The Air Jordan 16 (XVI) Original (OG) Low - White / Black - Varsity Red were released on August 4, 2001, retailing for $135. They feature a mostly white leather design, with red at the heel area, as well as perforations along the side panels, which allow the foot to breathe. One important aspect missing is the Jordan shroud or lace cover which is seen on the higher cut versions of the shoe. Other features of the shoe include a hidden quick lace system, carbon fibre sheath, Zoom Air insoles, and a Jordan shroud, which is a covering for the laces, made from full grain leather.
